‘Around The Wicket is a cricket term used when a left or right handed bowler plays on the side of the wicket where the bowling arm is further from the stumps, defining the idea of a queer bowler within the masculine sport. This piece expresses my experience pissing myself into a cricket protection cup during a match at the age of 10. Re-contextualised through José Esteban Muñoz’s theory of using Queer as a verb. Turning masculine childhood trauma into a friend as an attempt to digest it.’
