Setting a high precedent for ritualistic debauchery, Dead Animals released their debut track ‘Detain,’ on May 1st via High Soul Records. The song’s repetitive lyrics expose the mind of the character Ruby Roadkill, who demonstrates a compulsive desire for dominance, power and an obsession with sexual sadism. The underlying ceremonial magick that is a necessary part of the Dead Animals project is reflected in the track’s production, and hints at exciting things to come. It’s intense, heady, industrial and gothic, with many possibilities for even heavier remixes for 5am at Slimelight.
