SCRiTCH is an explosive and often provocative open mic and scratch night for some of the most talented and energetic cabaret and performance artists in Bristol, that will keep its audience captivated throughout. The organisers aim to promote and cultivate the region’s ever-growing cabaret and performance art scene and you can expect to see drag, burlesque, circus, spoken word, dance, political performance art, stand-up comedy, live singing, and lip syncing. One of the core principles that resounds throughout all SCRiTCH events - and of course Bristol itself – is its broad accessibility and transparent inclusivity. It’s backed by an invaluable team of hardworking voluntary staff.

SCRiTCH is produced by Bristol based drag kings Oliver Assets and Kurt Sovain. Oliver is also the co-producer of Brizzle Boyz, a queer punk drag king show and one of Bristol's most successful cabaret nights. They have a Facebook support group for local performers and SCRiTCH & B!TCH, a monthly meet up in a dance studio for anyone who wants to rehearse, make friends, and skill share with other performers. Oliver and their team are currently planning a series of professional development workshops, not only on various aspects of performance but other important skills for our industry, such as finance, technical and stage management. In his words “We want Bristol, with its huge wealth of talent, to become renowned as a national hub for queer cabaret and performing arts.” You can find them at The Old Market Assembly on the last Sunday of every month.
